American striker Gabe Segal has signed a one-season contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv and will join the club on loan from New York City FC of MLS, making 12 appearances and scoring two goals.
"Gabe is a talented young player - and in the minutes he got this season in MLS he showed his qualities," the club's head of football, Chen Sol, said of the 22-year-old striker.
Saul added: "Gabe is a pioneer with good data. We are delighted to have him join us and confident that he will help us meet our goals this season. We would like to thank New York City FC for their cooperation and look forward to welcoming Gabe to Tel Aviv soon."
Segal also played 12 games for the reserve team of German club FC Köln before joining New York City FC this season. The striker has also represented the United States in the youth teams.
"New York City FC is a great club that has given me the opportunity to grow and improve as a player - and I would like to thank them for giving me the opportunity to join Hapoel Tel Aviv on loan, so that I can play for a big club in a very competitive league," Segal said after signing Hapoel.

Segal, who will not be considered a foreigner, added: "I've heard so many great things about Hapoel Tel Aviv, the city and the amazing fans - I can't wait to experience it for myself. I am very excited to join my team-mates and will work hard to help the club achieve its goals this season."
